- Jan 12 – Jan 31 –> 2nd Review: Get feedback from Committee and Graduate School and incorporate feedback into thesis
- Feb 1-10: Schedule defense of dissertation by Feb 10
- Feb. 1-21 Defense Slides: Prepare slides and practice for dissertation defense
- March 14: Defend thesis before April 11 deadline
- Apr 1-25 –> Post-defense activities: Work on all post-defense feedback and submit to TRACE by April 25 Graduate School deadline including:
- Submission Final thesis/dissertation to TRACE
- Submission of Survey of Earned Doctorates certificate of completion to thesis@utk.edu by 5:00 p.m.
- Submission of Report of Final Examination (Pass/Fail) Form by 5:00 p.m.
- Submission of Thesis or Dissertation Approval Form by 5:00 p.m.
- Verification of Incomplete and NR grades by emailing gradspec@utk.edu
2024 Goals
- March 31 – 2nd journal: Submit 2nd journal paper by end of 1st quarter
- June – Dec. 16: Thesis writing and defense
- June 1-14 – Chapter 1: Complete Chapter 1 and outline of the thesis
- June 15-30 – Chapter 2: Complete remaining portion of Chapter 2: A Comprehensive Framework for Low-Income Audit Software Tools
- July 1-5 – KCDC Survey: Develop questionnaire and interview questions for KCDC
- July 6-20 – Engage KCDC Engage KCDC on Framework based on questionnaire and interview questions
- July 21 – Aug. 10 – Chapter 4 Include Chapter 4 based on journal and conference paper submission: Methodologies for Evaluating ECM Lifetimes in Low-Income Residential Buildings
- Aug 11 – September 9- Run tests: Perform test runs on framework
- Sep 10 – 14 – Chapter 3 Outline: Develop outline for Chapter 3
- Sep 16 – Oct 11 – Write Chapter 3: Complete first draft of Chapter 3
- Sept 16 – Oct 11 – KCDC Interview Follow-up: Follow up on interview request with KCDC and incorporate finding into thesis by Oct 31
- Nov 1 – 21 – Chapter 5: Complete Chapter 5: Framework for extending default energy conservation measure lifetimes in energy efficiency programs
- Nov 22-30 – Chapter 6: Draft Conclusion and Recommendation section
- Summarize key findings from each chapter
- Discuss the implications of the research and potential future work
- Provide clear and actionable recommendations based on the research
- Dec 1-15 – 1st Review: Review entire research and share with Committee for feedback
- Dec 16 -31 – TRACE Submission: Submit preliminary draft of dissertation/thesis in TRACE and Graduation Application and graduation fee paid online at MyUTK for review by Graduate School by October 11 Graduate School deadline
2023 Goals
- Submit first journal paper by end of 1st quarter
- Submit 2nd paper by end of 3rd quarter
- Look for Conferences and submit abstract by end of 1st quarter
- Start working on Comprehensive Exams by beginning of Fall Semester
- Finish 1st draft and submit for review by end of November
- Present and defend proposal to Committee during regular end-of-semester exams period (mid-December)
